Surrey rider places sixth in London

Ashley Gowanlock is consistently placing in the top 10 at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

The dressage equestrian competitor placed sixth in the Individual Championship Test Saturday at Greenwich Park with a score of 69.304. Riding Maile, the 25-year-old Surrey resident was also sixth in the Individual Freestyle Test Monday with a score of 68.8.

Gowanlock was also part of a four-member Canadian group in the Team Championship category. Canada placed eighth among the 16 nations competing.

Nathan Dewitt, also of Surrey, is entered in two wheelchair sprints. He placed sixth in his heat race in the 200m race with a time of 31.3 seconds, missing a place in the final by less than half a second.

He races the 100m sprint on Saturday.
