Samsung rumored to be launching Android camera at IFA

Samsung could be launching an Android-based camera at IFA, according to the latest round of rumors to sweep the net.?

Rumors of an Android-based camera from Samsung originate from tech site GSM Arena. According to the "anonymous source" who spoke to GSM Arena, the camera will be dubbed the Samsung S, feature a 16MP sensor, 4.8? inch Super AMOLED screen, a 10 x zoom and a pop-out Xenon flash and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

There are thought to be two versions of the camera: a WiFi-only and 3G + WiFi model.

Other details, including pricing and release dates are not known, but it is thought that those will be made clear at consumer electronics fair IFA in Berlin, August 31-September 5, if indeed Samsung doe release the device there.

Last week Nikon announced the launch of its first Android camera, the Coolpix S800c, which features a 10x zoom lens, a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a 3.5 inch OLED WVGA touch screen and runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
